About

What is Gather Movement?

We are a growing network of leaders passionate about seeing cities and towns transformed – socially, culturally and spiritually.

From churches to charities, businesses to the arts, we unite Christians across 150+ places to collaborate with their wider communities for the good of all.

We’re not working in silos – we’re building a movement. A movement of shared vision, shared practice, and shared hope.

We’re part of something bigger – linking with over 500 cities worldwide through the Global Cities Alliance and Movement Day to reimagine what’s possible when ordinary people work together for extraordinary change.

what are our Values?

  1. Rooted in Place
We invest in cities and towns because lasting transformation starts locally.
  2. Built on Relationship
We do this together because no one transforms a local place on their own.
  3. Driven by God’s love through prayer.
We believe no place or person is too broken for God’s love and no change happens without prayerful dependence.
  4. Fuelled by creativity
We are not afraid to do things differently. Old stubborn problems need a new imagination.
  5. Committed for the long term
We stay around because deep change takes deep roots.
  6. Grounded in reality
We measure impact and face reality with honesty and courage.
  7. Led by humility
We reject ego and logo because humility changes culture.
  8. Focused on everybody
We believe that ordinary people and small organisations can make an extraordinary difference in local communities and workplaces. Transformation is bottom up and top down.

What is our mission?

SPARKING VISION

In places where unity is just beginning to stir, we come alongside leaders to listen, pray and explore together. We offer encouragement and connection, helping nurture early steps as local movements begin to take shape.

ACCELERATING GROWTH

We journey with existing unity groups, offering relational support, mentoring and practical resources. We share stories, pray together and help leaders grow in strength, sustainability and faith.

FORGING PARTNERSHIPS

We create space for connection. We link unity groups with others across the UK and with wider opportunities that can help their place thrive. It’s about shared learning, encouragement and the sense that no one is doing this alone.

Transforming our places through Social, Spiritual and Cultural Renewal

Six foundations that form a framework for city transformation

Our Story

How did all this begin and what are the main moments in our story?

Strategic Partnerships

Gather Movement partners with a range of organisations to help church unity groups think through and deliver social, cultural and spiritual change in their locality. We presently have a small number of strategic partnerships:

Bible Society

biblesociety.org.uk

The Bible Society exist to help bring the Bible to life. In collaboration with them, we are exploring how the Bible can help us explore values and vision for the future of our towns and cities.

Trussell

trussell.org.uk/

We’re an anti-poverty charity and community of food banks. We work together to ensure no one in the UK needs a food bank to survive, while providing food and practical support to people left without enough money to live on.

Hope for justice

hopeforjustice.org

We’re delighted to partner with Hope for Justice who are fighting to bring freedom modern slavery. They are fighting human trafficking and helping victims and survivors all around the world. This work is only possible because of a growing global movement of ordinary people who support this life-changing work in many different ways.

Global Cities Alliance

Gather is a part of a global partnership linked to the Global Cities Alliance, a collaboration of city leaders based across 6 continents. We are also linked to Movement Day which is working now strongly across Asia and the Middle East.

national organisations

The Gather Movement also connects with a range of national organisations that offer valuable services and resources to our city unity groups:
